In 1970s, the establishment of Middle East Office Of Accreditation and Authentication was made with the provision of higher education in the Gulf region. The visionary leaders in the region centered their focus on higher education quality. The accessibility of higher education for all has remained a key objective of national leaders, providing students with high quality education. Since then, higher education in Gulf countries as witnessed great transformation and progress. Countries in the Gulf region have emerged as dynamic economies with fastest expansion rate. Today, Gulf region brings great educational and career opportunities for youth and professionals in diverse sectors.

There has been a sharp rise in number of traditional and non-tradition higher educational institutes. The increase in private and public higher education institutes initiated the importance of education quality assurance. In addition, many international higher education institutes are present in the region, attracting students and working adults to enroll in their programs.
